Weight and balance is a key factor in not only design but in the performance and stability of an aircraft under various operating conditions. The position of the center of gravity is affected by the total and the distribution of weight throughout the aircraft. Weight parameters ensure the wings and overall structure can support the aircraft 737-700/800 FCOM Boeing Maximum Taxi Weight 133,500 / 60,554 Maximum Takeoff Weight 133,000 / 60,327 Maximum Landing Weight 128,000 / 58,059 Maximum Zero Fuel Weigh 120,500 / 54,657 Autopilot/Flight Director System Don't engage the autopilot below 400 ft AGL. For single channel approach, the autopilot shall disengaged below 50 ft AGL. Four recent events, one safety lesson: the impact of weight & balance issues on a flight can range from merely a “strange feeling” to a fatal accident. Among the accidents related to a weight and balance issue*: 21% are due to overweight. 35% are due to a CG which exceeds the certified limits. In February 2018, the FSB conducted an analysis of the changes introduced for the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF). The analysis identified that the 737-800BCF is functionally equivalent to the 737-800. The 737-800BCF is incorporated into the Next Generation (NG) family aircraft in the Master Differences Requirements (MDR) Table.

The loading graph and CG envelope shown in Figures 1 and 2 are for an airplane with the following specifications and weight and balance data. Number of seats: 4. Fuel capacity (usable): 38 gal of Avgas. Oil capacity: 8 qt (included in empty weight) Baggage: 120 lb. Empty weight: 1,400 lb. The maximum weight limits may be less if constrained by center of gravity limits. Refer to Pages 3 and 4, and the Weight and Balance Control and Loading Manual Supplement for additional airplane loading limitations. MINIMUM WEIGHT Minimum In-flight Weight - 122,400 lb (55,520 kg) The minimum in-flight weight does not include usable fuel. The Weight and Balance Manual is part of the Operating Limitations section of the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM). In accordance with 14 CFR 21.41 , the Operating Limitations are part of the airplane type certificate and, therefore, can be modified only by changing that certificate; that is, by obtaining an amended or supplemental type certificate.
On 3 February 2022, a Boeing 737-200F collided with a tree shortly after a daylight normal visibility takeoff from Puerto Carreño which resulted in engine stoppage although a subsequent restart was partially successful and a return to land was subsequently completed without further event.
