The standard zoom of choice for pro photographers, Canon’s original 24-70mm f/2.8L was something of a classic. As you’d expect from Canon’s range-topping standard zoom, autofocus comes courtesy of a fast and whisper-quiet ring-type ultrasonic system. Image quality is excellent, with great sharpness and contrast even when shooting wide-open.

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM User Reviews. 9.2/10 average of 45 review(s) It's somewhat of a tough choice for me to choose a favorite between this and the 24-70mm f/2.8, because, while II agree in principle, with regard to lenses that appear as EF and RF variants. But, I would disagree on the 24-70mm range mainly because of the cost difference. This is my personal bias, but the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 is almost the cost of the 28-70mm f/2, which is a substantially better lens, and isn't that much of an improvement over the EF version.
The ƒ/1.4 is a USM L-glass lens, meaning it should do just about everything faster and better than the ƒ/2.8 version, but cost more than three times more. Canon EF 24-70mm ƒ/2.8L USM ~$1,200
