Definitely not as as tedious as playing the game and doing a bit of everything. On a serious note, the main difference between survival and normal is slower start and more inventory management after that. Nothing to be proud of. #15.
You can now easily move between galaxies in at least two ways (possibly three if you join another player's game and he/she is in a different galaxy). If you have an existing base in another galaxy you can now revisit it using any teleporter. For example, I have bases in each of the first 10 galaxies, and teleporting to them in Beyond is the No Man’s Sky is a fantastic single player experience but multiplayer has added much since it was introduced, and it is disappointing to see it missing on Switch. but it is worth being aware
There are differences between galaxies - you can find more details, fully explained in the NMS Wiki. NMS is a journey which has no ending, differences are in the details, your observations and the nature of your goals and experiences. The sheer size of the NMS universe, (256 galaxies, each with its own unreachable number of planets) ensures

If you like NMS it is so much better in VR. They really did a good job with it, the VR controls are well done. No Man's Sky is an interesting one. It promised so many things and caused crazy hype, but when it finally launched (as a flat screen game) it was barebones, underwhelming, and overall just very disappointing.

Starfield is a boring western experience set in space, with more fetch quests than I’ve ever seen in a videogame. NPCs look like genderless blobs and have the weirdest nonexistent facial expressions and stalker stares. Base building exists but it’s terrible, especially compared to Fallout 4 and No Man’s Sky.
